Your future first

The Organization aims to participate in the most important international competitions for university students and to offer internships and experiences abroad to bring about an improvement in the skills of the country's future ruling class.

From 2012 to today, the Association has successfully participated in more than twenty international conferences including NMUN New York, BerlinMUN, London International MUN, NMUN Latin America in the Galapagos Islands, NMUN DC in Washington, MUNSA in Barcelona, receiving awards and recognitions based on merit in almost eight of these.

During these experiences, various institutional meetings were organized, including the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to the United Nations, the Ambassadors of Italy, Spain, Ivory Coast and the Order of Malta, the Consul General of the Italian Republic in the State of New York, the Director of Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, the President of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce, the NIAF Foundation, Bloomberg and Banco do Brasil, and the Director of the newspaper IlNewyorchese, the most read by Italians in America. At the end of these events, the Association always issues a Certificate of Participation to its members.

Training

The subjects taught during the Training Course dedicated to future Delegates are International Law, International Relations, Geopolitics, English Language, Teamworking, effective communication techniques, writing of official documents for International Organizations, Public Speaking and diplomatic procedure rules. In addition, an in-depth study of the English language is provided.

The training course is conducted in a mixed mode, both in person and online, and lasts about 40 hours in the pre-departure phase, continuing with on-site assistance during participation in work sessions and/or academic competitions both in Italy and abroad.

The training course is structured as follows:

Basic course

Those who intend to participate in the project, after completing the registration form, are entitled to attend an introductory course, focused on the basic notions of the project, such as the UN structure, the aims of NMUN and their role as Delegate.

Advanced course

Delegates selected through the test have access to the advanced course, which ends a few days before departure for the destination where the simulation is held and aims to provide the technical and specific notions required for the project. Various thematic areas are covered, students are assigned to committees taking into account their individual abilities and propensities, aiming to maximize each person's role within work groups; furthermore, practical simulation tests are conducted.

The advanced course is organized as follows:

The first part is focused on research: it is required to research from official sources, paper or web, the greatest amount of useful information to identify the international policy position assumed by the represented State in relation to the topics of competence of each committee, in order to draft Position Papers;

The second and final part instead aims to teach the Rules of Procedure; the rules which govern the work within each committee. Simulation tests serve to apply the rules to concrete cases and understand the reality of what delegates will face during the competition.
